A talented batsman but a modest, hardworking character, Stuart Matsikenyeri is the third of three school friends from Churchill Boys High School, Harare to represent Zimbabwe in international cricket. - Cricinfo.

Yelling aside, I would pick Rainsford over Ncube.
But before I did that, I would've picked Meth, - his bowling form is better and he can bat

Taylor needs to make a change. No point in giving these guys both long spells to begin with.

Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe v New Zealand: Test Match
Ncube may have gotten 3 wickets against a good NZ batting order, and like Vitori, is 'good' enough to have gotten a Test&ODI 5fer against 'mighty' Bangladesh, but this is TEST cricket! 5 days of putting in the hard yards and getting the job done - against experienced men who make cricket their living and are stars in the game. Is he good enough for it? NO! Rather have guys who will keep it 10/0 in 5, as opposed to 40/0 in 5! Says a lot about the quality of your bowlers. This is ODI stuff, bordering T20 on occasion!maehara wrote:...I have no problems with Ncube's selection - he managed to get some early results out of the QSC pitch in the 3rd ODI....
Why on earth is our most experienced bowler being relegated to first or second change each time. Is it for no particular reason that Ncube plays second fiddle to him at the Tuskers on this very ground year after year!!!
In like manner, at the end of the day's play I look forward to you telling me what 'kind' of players our opening bowling attack is.Zimfanatic69 wrote: He[Rainsford] is not useless, he is not a bad player. A squad player rather than a star performer.

1. Mawoyo 2. Duffin 3. Sibanda 4. Taylor 5. Masakadza 6. Williams 7. Chakabva 8. Creamer 9. Jarvis 10. Rainsford 11. Mpofu
Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe v New Zealand: Test Match
Yes Jarvis beat him for pace, hopefully we can get a control on the scoring rate now and keep on plugging away, still annoyed about Meth not playing but oh well nothing we can do about it now. Seems a bit strange that Mutiwa's keeping isnt seen good enough for test but it is for ODI's (cant remember him making any mistakes in the ODI's)

Chakabva, like Cephas must have strong allies.
