Taylor would surely be both cricketer and batsman of the year? He deserves to anyway.
Rookie of the year and most promising cricketer of the year should be Vitori although Jarvis is a strong candidate too.

And yes, congratulations to the winners. All richly deserved.

Russel Tiffin is again the umpire of the year :), and Ian Robinson got a special award.

Meth rightly acknowledged as the standout bowler of the year. Pity the national coaches don't see it that way. He's a better allround bowler than both Jarvis&Vitori (smarter, more competent, more experienced, more accomplished with the new ball etc, eternally superior FC stats).

Seeing as Taylor(&Tino) was rewarded largley for recent international performances, one would have thought Vitori & Jarvis had also done enough in the same time, but Meth's(&Chatara) domestic form last season have been shown to have more value than their international returns!

Out of Mpofu, Elton, Jarvis, Vitori & Meth, one wonders who will miss out in the Test XI to face NZ! I strongly suspect it will be Meth again. Just like the XI that faced Bangladesh, only with a slightly regressing Waller in plcae of a slightly improving Craig.

I know the coaches are blindly biased towards the rookies, so maybe dropping Elton for Meth(which I don't favour), instead of one of those two, will lay the platform for what will probably produce embarassing revelations.

Would be silly to try and squeeze Cremer in to the squad!

hhm, thanks for saying out loud what may or may not resonate well with everyone.

The irony I think is that Meth has been grossly undervalued and underused as a batsman. At least in the shorter format I dont see any weakness in his batting. At least he wont stall the game by fake shows of solidity which is really a poor excuse for lack of skills in strike rotation.

May be his overall batting stats to date do not reflect what I am saying but trust me I think this guy believes he can win games on his own and he seems to be a much improved cricketer this year especially with the bat.

He should be batting right after Ervine for the tuskers or used in the powerplays because he has got the game or he has got the fundamentals right and can add to that with the match experience.

Not sure Meth is quite that good with the bat yet.
