Especially with Mushangwe, Utseya and sometimes Maruma to back them up. The best ballanced attack in franchise cricket, only the Tuskers come close.Boundary wrote:I kinda like the Mountaneers trio of Shingi, Tiripano and Chatara. They have had lots of success and are very effective.

Shingi for me if he can sort out his economy is a class act, his striking abilities for me have never been in question even in ODI, its his control (economy) that has held him back, like I said in the Rhinos-Rocks thread, Zim pace bowling is at a peak! Please hhm dont misread that, I said at a peak (Zim terms not world!)

Elton motoring away towards a ton! Good on you mate...hopefully the start of some form, and if this becomes permanant form (unfortunately little time before NZ)...then I am willing to reconsider him for Mutizwa at 7 for the Test team (note he was always my number 7 for ODI and T20)...

And with that perfomance (6-54) Shingi Masakadza books his flight to New Zealand. Matbe even the first change duties; but I don't know if Elton Chigumbura's century is a good thing or not - he was certainly banking on borrowed time. Here's hoping this is a start of better things to come

Re: Mountaineers vs Eagles
Tino Mawoyo out for a duck in Mountaineers second innings. Quite how he manages to notch up centuries and half centuries against international sides, beats me. And Gumunyu-Manatsa strikes again
Re: Mountaineers vs Eagles
Jarvis & G-manatsa on firee
mount 8/4

mount 8/4

Re: Mountaineers vs Eagles
Tatenda Manatsa really seems to be another find. He's pretty much come from nowhere, I don't remember him ever being involved in the U19 set-up over the last couple of years.

Re: Mountaineers vs Eagles
Well done to Chigs once again on the ton, maybe a bit late to convince in terms of NZ test vis a viz number 7 spot vs Mutizwa who has been consistant. Interesting problem I'd say, Chigs on form becomes our version (not equivalent hhm but OUR version ...) of Kallis or Watson, who could bat at 7, and act as an extra bowler. [1. Mawoyo 2. Sibanda 3. Masakadza 4.Taylor 5. Taibu 6.Waller 7. Chigumbura/Mutizwa ....]
Happy with our bowlers, Jarvis, Vitori, and Shingi doing well, and Meth and Mpofu (who is out anyways) on a bye. [...8. Jarvis 9. Meth/Masakadza 10. Vitori 11. Price]
However the batting is a huge worry, Mawoyo, misfiring but I wouldn't worry he has never really sparkled at FC, Vusi not making much, Hami also missing out twice, Taibu, Mutizwa, Waller all not spending time in the middle...But maybe its just the Christmas pies, and rustiness...
PS Matsi for me is consistently shaky in the longer form but in the shorter version he has been very very good...Chakabva and Chibaba have not done much to convince me from my stance as having them as outsiders to a place on the plane to NZ, Ncube and Chatara (who has been very good) are ones for the future...
And a mention to GM for his 7 and rising...but if Querl couldn't make it based on half a season's performance I'd be gobsmacked if he got in based on a match....

Actually he's taking his FC wickets this season faster than Querl is in terms of SR (not games played, obviously).FlowerPower wrote: And a mention to GM for his 7 and rising...but if Querl couldn't make it based on half a season's performance I'd be gobsmacked if he got in based on a match....
Chigs may not have quite convinced you but i'm sure that's a direct ticket back to the side - Mutizwa's hopes now lie in an injury up the order ...

Ja, the selectors seem to be deep in love with Chickenboora and this performance certainly gives them a good reason to include him in the number 7 spot for the Test.
I'm really excited about LT G-M. He looks like he knows how to get wickets and the fact that he's out bowling KJ really adds to the excitement.
As for the game situation the Green Goats are as good as dead! It'll take a miracle to get back from this situation
