I said it around 1am today, this guy puts in a lot of effort in training. I saw him enough times at CFX academy and als HSClub. Hes always in the nets and i think he deserves his maiden 50.Flower power wrote:Zimbabwe breaks peoples feelings , yu will be lucky if they live up to expectations .Zombi wrote:i have a feeling Chakabva wil shine despite the odds. Yes they would. If only the problem was as simple as poor selection. It isn't. A couple of those players may be fractionally better than the incumbents. None of them are head and shoulders above, sadly.hhm wrote:Mpofu, Rainsford, Panyangara, Hondo, Mawhire, Vermeulen, Duffin & Ewing wouldn't be this consistently pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!!!brmtaylor.com admin wrote:Yes, I agree. Zimbabwe has assured itself of maintaining minnow status for the time being. One thing I have often said on this forum is that our players are just not good enough. I don't think we are selecting all the wrong players, it is just that Zimbabwe's best players are nowhere near the standard of the other test countries. All of our young batsmen seem to have glaring technical issues, what is going on with school-level coaching?
I genuinely can't believe that you have mentioned Mahwire (retired!) and Hondo. Have you seen Hondo recently? He is very unfit, and can't manage to play 2 first class games in a row. In addition to that he was this consistently pathetic in test cricket when he was fit and in form...
Clearly a shambolic defeat. The only option is to work harder, and hope for better next time. One or two changes may be useful. They would not make up the innings and 300 run chasm between the teams. I honestly wish you were right!

I'll stand by what I've always said, Mutizwa is not of international class. Every time I've watched him bat he doesn't move his feet and he doesn't pick his bat up, atall. Not blaming him for the whole loss, but number 3 should be able to play in different ways for the benefit of the team, and quite frankly, he can't.
I know we may never see him play for Zimbabwe again, but number 3 was made for Sean Williams. He would fill that hole superbly......but that will never happen

Debut, away from home openers gone before 3 overs are up, what exactly did you want him to do. I blame the captain and coaching, he should have been down at 5 highest, look I can't change your not liking him for whatever reason, but I can ask objectivity, he earned the chance, and mind you it's the ONLY Test he's ever played and what he's failed forever? Come on...sloandog wrote:I'll stand by what I've always said, Mutizwa is not of international class. Every time I've watched him bat he doesn't move his feet and he doesn't pick his bat up, atall. And so what do you want ZC to go and kidnap Sean? Cause he ain't interested. Interestingly Hami bags a pair Taylor hardly any better, ditto Taibu, and no word and yes....Mutizwa must bear the brunt....
Why do I bother....trying to reason with people who don't operate on logic is like trying to draw blood out of a stone...never going to happen.

You can't strengthen the weak by making the weak stronger - Benjamin Franklin, and two wrongs don't make a right, but chaps these things happen even to the best, have a look here and here , hereand hereforeignfield wrote:We're living in the modern age of the spectacluar batting collapse.
Granted we had a lousy day, No excuses, but after a few decent ones from last year, it's part of the learning curve, what's important is how we come back from this. This lot is the best we have and the positive is they can only improve, ( as long as we avoid the top 6!)...

My point excactly. Was just watching England collapsing when I wrote this. But I'm getting used to my posts being misinterpreted or misrepresented.FlowerPower wrote:You can't strengthen the weak by making the weak stronger - Benjamin Franklin, and two wrongs don't make a right, but chaps these things happen even to the best, have a look here and here , hereand hereforeignfield wrote:We're living in the modern age of the spectacluar batting collapse.

Btw, why all this bitterness on this forum in recent weeks? People barking at each other (I take the blame on myself and have vowed to abstain from it, even if leaving arguments outside off requires a lot of discipline), bisecting each others views with the sole aim of ramming home points made a hundred times before.
Come on, let's spread some love around.

Is it just me, or do other people get the sense that hhm takes alot of enjoyment from watching certain players fail, particularly those outside of his 'chosen few'. It seems he cares more about being right (at least in his mind) than Zimbabwe actually doing well.
Anyway I can't believe some people (hhm) are calling for the inclusion of Mawhire and Hondo. How can anyone who follows cricket believe Hondo and Mawhire are test standard at the moment? Hondo has basically retired and Mawhire is close to it.

I appreciate that but my opinion of him isn't going to change. He isn't a number three, which you have rightfully acknowledged, but equally he doesn't seem up to international cricket. Of what I've seen of him. Will gladly eat my words (unlike Hhm) if i was to be proven wrong.FlowerPower wrote:Debut, away from home openers gone before 3 overs are up, what exactly did you want him to do.
When did i ever say he's failed for ever....seriously read what I've put before coming out with those stupid comments.foreignfield wrote:nd what he's failed forever? Come on...
