I think the fact that he was up down there with his dad actually says something about him. I know its all good to support etc but how many people go to work with their dads? I hope his dad didnt have too much influence in the decision. The dad was very sociable and seemed to be having a good time!

Yeah I wouldnt be too harsh on him either

The guy wanted to compare the shiny Rosebowl and Southampton to Mutare, of course it's going to be difficult. I think it was a good idea but he didn't mentally prepare himself - Zim was never going to be SA or Aus but it would've differentiated him from other English lads of the same age. Look at Allan Donald, from the Mountaineers to NZ to SA in quick succession. However, that requires you to take the rough with the smooth. I admire him for trying though.

Full credit to the likes of Wheater and Horton and Weseels who have fully embraced the life style in Zimbabwe.
It was a great oppotunity for Dawson who could of been like Wheater and Horton who both had good seasons in English county cricket because of the hard work they out in over the winter playing in Zimbabwe
It says nothing about the Western world. It says something about a young man who found the lifestyle in Mutare not quite to his taste.
A talented batsman but a modest, hardworking character, Stuart Matsikenyeri is the third of three school friends from Churchill Boys High School, Harare to represent Zimbabwe in international cricket. - Cricinfo.
Before you know what happened whilst he was there then i dont think anyone has the right to comment on his decision in coming back. Just typical "fans" chatting absolute rubbish.
People writing and slating him on a forum just shows what you are like. And im sure he isnt too bothered in listening to what you idiots say anyway. Complete nobodys who know nothing

This is how it really went down...
liam was bored and decided to google his name and see how his google ranking was doing. he was quite surprised when the very top result was a link to a site called Zimbabwe Cricket Forums, and there was a topic entirely dedicated to him! So he clicks the link and doesnt have to wait long for Internet explorer (yeah Liam is PC not Mac) to bring out the page. After reading the first few posts the smile slowly disappeared, these guys from nowhere were being disresectful to a guy with class! But what really urked him to join the forum and 'set the record straight' was the thought of all those fans out there who will be eagerly searching for Liam Dawson' in google only to see this link first! He tried to get the post deleted but the page kept giving him an error-1694. hence he resorted to posting the two posts. And the sad realisation that to have this post come up so highly in Google when your name is typed, shows that you are the real nobody as noone else is talking about you.
Welcome to the Forum! Thats me introducing myself to you as your local Conspiracy Therapist cos I believe conspiracy theories are really therapuetic.
