1. hhm: A belligerent character who despite his recent scores of 0,0,0,1,5,0, can still produce 'statistics' proving why he is the superior batsman in the side.
2. ZIMDOGGY: Takes great pleasure in running out his opening partner hhm.
3. CrimsonAvenger: Why does he carry around so many pictures of cricketers?
4. brmtaylor.com: The captain of side, who hides down at number 4 and instead chooses to sacrifice hhm at the top of the order.
5. eugene: Rumours persist that eugene and Craig Ervine are the same person.
6. bayhaus: Has taken to coming to the crease wearing a tin-foil helmet to stop Alistair Campbell reading his thoughts.
7. zimfan1: Always up with all the latest news on which player has fallen afoul of the authorities (see maehara). Also always seems to know who CrimsonAvenger is taking pictures of.
8. Dr_Situ (ZimFanatic): The team doctor who is also a handy offspinner.
9. sloandog: Still searching for raw pace, unfortunately we can't tell how fast he really bowls as ZC sold the teams radar gun to free up some money for Chingoka's new Rolex.
10. foreignfield: Has the real stats on the players, although hhm thinks they are rigged as he isn't leading every category.
11. anusha gamage: Always sent out at toss time as he (or is it she) is an expert on when Zim should bat first.
Coach: maehara: An authoritarian figure who has been known to eliminate people who challenge his authority.

Re: 2012 ZCF XI
you see thats what I am talking about this bayhaus character hasnt done jack to warrant selection into the top 12. There are obviously quotas in place. And there must be some sort of conflict of interest cos how can the chair of the cricket committee be the agent for the player in question.6. bayhaus: Has taken to coming to the crease wearing a tin-foil helmet to stop Alistair Campbell reading his thoughts.
Obviously eugene is in cahoots with Ozias and AC probably has shares in Dominus sport.
Nice one!

...aydee, takleg?
You sure that wasn't someone batting in disguise as me? I was awol for the most part. In any case a few 10s behind those numbers, and you've got a batsman starting to resemble me more closely.
I think he 'mistakes' me for a troll.eugene wrote:Coach: maehara: An authoritarian figure who has been known to eliminate people who challenge his authority.

Obviously I couldn't fit everyone in, I am happy for people to add their own ZCF XIs to this thread. I had a similar post at the end of 2011 if anyone is interested http://zimcricketforums.com/viewtopic.p ... 011#p37288.

Nice one
.. and very nice to make the starting XI although I'd rather hide amongst the supporting staff
.
My alternative ZCF XI
1. Zimfan1 has been promoted to open this year, can always be counted upon to give us a start
2. Zimdoggy, explosive as ever, and brilliant at first slip where he specializes in "leaning on" batsmen
3. aydee, deserves an extended run in the side after consistently outscoring his contemporaries
4. gargamel, a bit of a wildcard selection, but outstanding contributions in club cricket demand a place for this youngster
5. Eugene (c), steady accumulation has never been his forte, but his short backlift and sweet cover-drives are still a sight to behold, while his one-liners from mid-on have helped his side through the toughest of times
6. CrimsonAvenger (wk), no information or picture ever gets past this man
7. Jemisi, the archetypical allrounder: any place, any time
8. hhm, opener turned lower order hitter -- these days even miss-hits often clear the fence! And while he bowls at hardly more than medium pace he hits the deck as hard as anyone, never shirks form bowling uphill-and-into-the wind and is a handful in helpful conditions. His captain often finds it difficult to get the ball out of his hands
9. sloandog, ZCF's strike bowler has added unwarring accurancy to the raw pace he always had
10. bayhaus, mystery spinner, can extract bounce and extravagant turn from the most docile of surfaces
11. betterdays, seamers are often rotated these days, so takleg, traindriver, boundary, ming and others also get a look in.
Batting Coach: FlowerPower, the former middle-order stalwart has all the statistics for all the batsmen, including hhm, whose demotion from opener to lower order hit man has been a revelation.
Bowling Coach: brmtaylor.com, his insistence that every teast team needs a leg-spinner is bearing fruit as bayhaus has now added a deadly leg-break to his already potent arsenal of googlys, wrong'uns, chinamen, flippers, toppers, and carom-balls.
The Analyst: foreignfield, ZCF should really know better than to give this job to a foreign import!
Convenor of selectors: meahara, wannabee pretenders who only want to show off their new sponsor's kit find it impossibel to get past him
Head Coach, team doctor, physiotherapist and éminence grise: Dr._Situ (Zimfanatic), he does not speak often, but when he does everyone listens!

.. just wanted to add how much I enjoy the forum.

Zim Cricket Forum
Give me the sun and a big PC
Give me a chair positioned beautifully
Give me a hat trick from HSC
Give me the Zim Cricket Forum
And set me free
Show me a bayhaus conspiracy
Show me a team talk argued carefully
Peruse the topics, sip some Earl Grey tea
And let the Zim Cricket Forum
Set you free
Zim Cricket Forum
Will set you free
The Zim Cricket Forum
And now the site is down!
And now we're back on the internet
And we'll be here till the stage is set
Look there's a spam-bot (*whistles*) right there on the screen
Only the Zim Cricket Forum
Can set you free
Have a good 2013 everyone!
