I expect Zimbabwe's horror show to continue through to their batting. Wouldn't be surprised if we got bowled out for less than 150.

Mushangwe getting praise from Skyspots during the break. But he's the only spark unfortunately

If Taylor goes early - yes. Craig & Malcolm come after him. 120/4 before that is not bad!takleg wrote:I expect Zimbabwe's horror show to continue through to their batting. Wouldn't be surprised if we got bowled out for less than 150.

Mutombodzi would have as well. He did well against top SA batsmen and Bangladeshis who are good players of spin. Both batting order were superior to this WI team.Boundary wrote:Mushangwe getting praise from Skyspots during the break. But he's the only spark unfortunately

I wonder how much Streak's absence has affected the team's performance in this game. Mpofu usually works well with Streak.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to bring in another bowler, but my opinion on that will have to wait until we see how the batsmen fare.hhm wrote:Get real! Where were you when Jarvis was screaming to be dropped. Did you say anything? Chatara will replace Jarvis, and mutombodzi will replace one of the batsmen, with Mawoyo coming in for one of the batsmen as well.jasonvtaz wrote:I'd like to see Chatara and Mutombodzi in for Mpofu and Utseya on Sunday.
Mpofu is by far our most economical ODI seamer since the start of 2011, and he strikes better than Jarvis! Why drop our best bowler after one match in which his wickets are the primary reason why we're not chasing 380!
His contribution is worth more than the other bowlers combined. How else do you think Utseya & Mushangwe were able to curb their run rates later on.
Sure he was expensive, but he single handedly averted a disaster!
Why drop him? Because it's only a three match series and we don't have time to wait and see if he can figure it out. Utseya and Mushangwe's rates have nothing to do with Mpofu, they often weren't even bowling at the same time.

How on earth did he single handedly avert disaster? He was poor. You don't need to talk nonsense every post.

Conceding 83 is pretty much a disaster on its own, no?Jemisi wrote:How on earth did he single handedly avert disaster? He was poor. You don't need to talk nonsense every post.
