He [Jongwe]'s defiantly a bowler, Isn't great at batting, just handy like a Shingi or Chatara of late.

really ... I have never seen any of these under 19s (except some clips of Lake's century against India) bat or bowl but was always under the distinct impression he was essentially a middle order batsman who could bowl - never comes in under number 6 so can't be Chatara (or even Shingi) bad!?

also more a bowler than a batsman - or another Grant Flower? Never seen him (must say his photo on cricinfo did look a bit podgy for a seamer ) ... but Zim have bred so many of these Hami/Chibhabha/Whittal/Rinke (bats who turn their arms) types - and that's not even getting into the very slow bowlers ...

We did our usual, collapsing when we're doing okay. We were never going to win given our slow scoring, but I was hoping that Burl & Lake would hang around longer than that, and we'd bat out the 50 overs.

Lucky you..I have sent hundreds of messages to Cricinfo to change the wrong classifications of many Associate players, but it rarely changes.

Ive really got to wonder, it seems to be an issue not just at national level but all through our ranks, our batting. Its just atrocious. We have a batting coach for our national team and yet we still produce very inconsistent peformances for all the talk about how much we seem to be improving.

When are we actually going to teach our batsmen to play cricket shots and never be afraid to play those shots. Are we all about defending our wicket and trying to more not to get out rather than score runs?

I don't think it's really about fear. It's about ability (of which, mental approach is of course a part). It's not as if you could just say "don't be scared" and everyone would start scoring runs...
