Alester Maregwede Interview
ZCN recently had a chance to put a few questions to Alester Maregwede, who made his Test debut for Zimbabwe in 2004 and who has recently been playing in Australia. Despite having been out of the national picture for a while, Alester is still hoping to return to the top of the Zimbabwean game - but we started with asking him about where his cricketing career began. Read on for the full interview...

Re: Alester Maregwede Interview
good interview but if the truth be told i cant see him coming back to the international fold
but it does highlight how the young cricketers were thrown in to a situation after the rebels walked out in 2004 and just could not cope

Re: Alester Maregwede Interview
Very cool interview and a very mature outlook I remember playing against Alester when he was the ojnee of the youngest in the churchill team but the boy had a straight bat! And what a load of rubbish to be told you are too old at 24 years!! Which nutcase is killing Zim cricket there??

I have been a lurker here for a few months but I just had to register in order to say this: Congrats guys. This interview is insightful, remarkably done and mightily welcome! Between you and bmtaylor.com (and Zimind) we all get our Zim Cricket fix. Keep it up.

Re: Alester Maregwede Interview
Thanks, folks. There's a story behind how this interview came about that I can't relate, but suffice to say I enjoyed dealing with Alester to get it done. Guy seems to have the right attitude towards his cricket - just remains to be seen whether there's somewhere for him to slot in to the current setup. Looks like he's on his way home for the coming season, so we'll soon see.
