Just quickly (to come to a conclusion on the absolute best first eleven we'd need to do a pretty lengthy investigation trawling through the stats and recalling what we have all seen): I'd have question marks over Matsikenyeri and Chibhabha, guys like Mutizwa might have leapfrogged them. And Mupariwa... depends if you want seam or spin, because I wouldn't be complaining if Cremer was in the first eleven.
1. Judging the recent from, I guess Mutizwa should be in the line up in place of Chibhabha or Matsikenyeri. Mutizwa averages 40+ in 5 ODIs though all against Kenya.
2. If you want to depend more on spin, you can include Cremer in place of Mupariwa. If you drop any batsman to take Cremer, I think the batting will be a bit weak.
Playing XI with Taylor's inclusion
1. Question marks over Matsikenyeri. It will be better to take Mutizwa in no 5. Matsikenyeri averages only around 20 in 80 odd matches. I think, it's not at all sufficient as a top order batsman in international cricket.
2. Same from the previous no 2 (Pace/Spin)
Ideal & Best XI (with Taibu)
Agree with it... Just the pace/spin factor you want to go with...
It is true that mutitzwa has scored heavily against weak opposition and not the big boys but you can only score against the teams pitted against you. The boy has talent and that should be nurtured, He should be given the same extended run that Matsikenyeri and dabengwa have been enjoying for a couple of years, Who knows what he can do against west indies/Bangladesh, he should at least be given a chance against the big boys and then we can judge his progression
Agree...Matsikenyeri, Sibanda and Dabengwa have enjoying this service for a good period of time although they haven't done anything to get such. But Mutizwa has scored runs against Kenya, no matters. He shuld be given chance to proove himself against class bowling attacks.
