Welcome to the forum Anusha. Good to know you are playing ckt. We welcome your opinion on the current series. My take on your suggestions:

1. Agree with attacking start but disagree with Chigumbura's selection. He is good for 3rd PP or last 10 over blast.
2. Always best way to tackle spinners.Rotate strike. Agree.
3. That's where Dot's should take advice from other senior colleagues in the team. He is pathetic in taking decisions. Price are you listening?
4. Mutizwa is a revelation in this phase and he and Chigumbura can change the course of the mt during this phase.
5. Agree

Agree with what you said Dr Situ. I think for an attacking start, Taylor is ideal because he can get runs quickly but is also an accumulator. Taylor and Sibanda complemented each other well in this respect, Taylor would rotate the strike well with the odd boundary while Sibanda would take a few more risks.

That was around 2 years ago though, Masakadza is now firmly entrenched in the opening position and Vermeulen looks poised to join him. I get the feeling Vermeulen is a smart cricketer (I don't remember much of him from the early 00's) so I hope he will be like Taylor, in that he will go on to make a good score.

Wouldn't complain at all to see Masakadza and Vermeulen, followed by Williams and Taylor. That is a great top order.

Couldn't agree with you more. I think that's such a good top order it could remain competitive even when (touch wood) India and the West Indies come along. :D

then with Chigumbura and Mutizwa at 6 and 7 the only real interesting spot is the number 5 role

Agree 100 % :D I'm also hoping to see the same.

I guess, Charles Coventry in no 5 with some blasting hitting. Just imagine, the top 4 will build the innings and afterwards Coventry, Chigumbura and Mutizwa will blast the ball out of the stadium. I reckon the old glorious days of Zimbabwe will be back then. Possible indeed, isn't it ?

And another fact when Taibu will be available, he has to fight for a place against Mutizwa/Coventry.
