Re: [Match Thread] Pakistan v Zimbabwe, 2nd T20I
I thought overall it was a decent effort by the team at least compared to the last game. Would have liked to see Raza open with Hami, Sibanda although he batted okay, was still slow for a T20 standard. I'd like to see Coventry in the ODI team, otherwise Mutumbami to keep and drop Chamu for Ervine. Pany for Mpofu in the bowling attack

Cremer bowled well last game now he is shithouse?
Bowling legspin in t20 cricket his very hit or miss im not going to be too harsh on him just yet ......
Conant I remember arguing with you about Williams playing t20 cricket a few years back now you're on the bandwagon??

Sean Williams will carry us this series.
I'm still convinced that Coventry is overrated....

Better results than I was expecting from these two matches. Hami needs to turn a 40 into an 80!!

I think overrated Sibanda cost us the match and it was very evident from his body language. He was literally struggling. By the time his misery ended we had only 20 balls left. Thanks to Elton that we were able to batter our previous score but both of them were below par. Sibanda's batting put undue pressure on everyone-be it the penultimate over for 4 runs or two misses by Choppa.
I would certainly pick Cremer, Choppa, Bobby for the ODIs. Ervine will shine in the 3 match series. Chamu (poor against spinner), Vusi, DOTS and Mutambami can relax. I dont see too much into the T20 results as we are a poor T20 side. Still, we fought hard as acknowledged by opposition skipper. The ODI side of Pakistan is rebuilding and we have our best chance to win a away series.

We should really keep Payangara for the test side to build up pressure. that is where he excels by bowling Length. Not however in the 20/20 ODI arena as length is often dispatched. Im banging the drum for carl mumba myself, saw some footage of him and he looks a big strong athletic boy who bowls fast...get him in the side!!!

I am not sure Coventry is overrated. Does anyone here rate him all that highly? He is completely inconsistent but he sometimes hits gold. He at least offers more than Chakabva or Mutumbami in T20 cricket and is just as good behind the stumps.

Really? I don't remember that argument. But dare I say, Williams three years ago is not the same T20 player he is now. The only other innings remotely close to a wanted T20 innings I remember prior to this, against South Africa five year ago, was quite ordinary and disappointing. (10 from 25). Brendan had been going great guns and we needed somebody to keep him company. http://scorecard.cricketworld4u.com/match/87-829.php
Having said that, I did write about Sean Williams over 6 years ago, in 2008. I didn't jump on any bandwagon.

Yeah I believe it was before the BD t20 series a few years ago when Willy had a domestic t20 S/R under 100 .....
My point back then was Williams is class ( Zimbo standards ) so should be in the team I feel the same for Ervine .....
Ervine honestly always looks like he could get out every ball especially early in his innings, but the fact is he is better than most in the country so I would have him in all three formats until other guys stand up and perform better than him ......
