The decision to play Ervine at 3 paid off. Time to now keep nurturing him and give him the tools to play that role.

What a victory. So annoyed I was at work and had to follow on cricinfo. Someone please upload the link when the highlights are up.

Also, nice to have a feeling that when a certain batsman is in, you feel comfortable. Whenever Chamu is at the crease, I feel comfortable. He needs to keep pushing and keep building and working on his game. Definitely has the talent.

Holding my plaudits on the Ervine innings till I actually see it. So comforting to win though. Always knew Craig had it in him. Our batsmen have come to the party more often than not, time for the bowlers to step up. Cant keep conceding 100 plus in the last ten overs. We need to really fix our bowling.

taking my hat off to Ervine happy to eat humble pie

HSC was on fire today should have left Zim last week but am still around and glad too cos that chase was one of the best Zim has done in a long time. I was very critical of ervine and even more so for the decision to bat him at 3 and he replied in the only currency I understand- RUNS! And the way he celebrated shows that he was under pressure. And to win by 7 wickets was soooo sweet! When I saw 300 i just thought we would go through the motuons and fall short by 100 odd runs. Then we will here papers saying if Southee Bolt McCullam were here etc... Doesnt matter which 11 guys walked onto that pitch today we were going to win.

NZ were sloppy in the feild and had hamm been fitter we would have reached the score quicker.

Just watched the highlights. As well as I've seen any Zimbabwean bat in a long time. Quality innings. Hope he can build on this now. He is definitely a quality player.

As i was watching i couldnt help but think how quickly we need Utseya out of the set up. He was barely sitting watching the lads bat. When guys were doing well you could see everyone else smiling and being supportive, whereas Prosper was nowhere to be seen, and when he was, he was his usual sulky self. It is not the kind of character we need in the team. Time for him to be gone. I know it probably wont happen as long as Ozias is around, but i dont think anyone would be complaining if we sent the two of them on a extended holiday to the middle east or something.
