Alister Campbell said these are the best 15 cricketers in the country and i belive him, he has made it clear that this is a new eara and everybody will have a clean slate and a chance to impress.
On the first claass struture situation, we all know that it has been a mess in recent years but isnt the new franchise system going to attempt to sort it out?
At least there has been steps in the right direction
Who are these A team players you are talking about? i can only see one or two pushing for a national team place

Agree completely with zimfan1 here.
Tinashce, for every question you have asked, the answer would be let us wait and watch. I would not have said this a year ago, but the changes we have seen over the last few months have been encouraging enough to say that. I believe the changes have begun. We have a new look side after a long while. Yes, there are no wholesale changes, and I do not get what more you are expecting, but there is a change in the approach.
The structures you have talked about in Australia and SA take years to build. we can see the current franchise system as a new beginning. But we will have to wait and see. We are more willing to wait and see the progress now, than say a year ago, where nothing looked transparent.
Regarding people who fly in just before the series, this situation has been there for years now mainly due to lack of financial stability and alternative options. This is way better than going out of country once and for all and committing oneself elsewhere.
And the forum has been religiously following all the A team matches, the first class and list A matches and even some of the club level fixtures, thanks to ZCN and brmtaylor.com. Yes, these provide mere numbers of runs and wickets, but if you follow those for a decent period of time, you would start seeing a pattern of performers and non-performers.
I believe in this 15 (may be minus one or two) + about 5-8 others in the A squad to lift the game to the next level. Obviously, the setup, including the players themselves, will have to be more transparent in their approach for this to succeed.

Re: We Didnt Win The "Must Win Series"
To be fair to ZC they boys have been in a camp for around 3 to 4 weeks before the series and it was only one player in Taylor who came in before the series and he has performed ok.Do we have such a structure in place such that when we say it supposedly a "must win series" we do not just get in camp for a week or so and people fly in two days before a game and play..

Re: We Didnt Win The "Must Win Series"
Time we do have, I will wait and see personally I know and root for these boys day and night wish them luck and I WANT my country and team to do well..just I hope they are not hamsters on a treadmill that keeps going round and round. And I personally think you need cricket people to run cricket issues. The franchise system I totally sport finally we might have a feeder system but did we merely adopt the model form South Africa etc or did we adapt it to suit us as Zimbabwe?
As for your best 15 that's up for debate, I know another 15 NB of people between 25 and 22 who are all over whom I am in contact with who would rather abstain or wait to see real transformation before they consider coming back..(and these werent your average school boy cricketers or ZIm A, first class players either...most have better records than some of our current players).
Question is besides the lip service that is being paid and time etc, what efforts are being done to get those here? And really if we are to advance why reinvest in a time consuming process to rebuild a layer base when you have 20 plus cricketers who you brought up in the system and invested in, playing elsewhere and you need THOSE players back home, if not to play full outright to beef up your franchise structures??
Even n South Africa they welcome back their Kolpack players with open arms, Langers is coming back to play here in a months time full on in WP why cant we do the same?? I just do not feel that enough is being done to get the other youthful players back to play home.If not to stay there get them to come in and play and they can go back wherever they are currently playing for the benefit of the game in Zimbabwe coz its the nations game. For how long will we wait and rebuild I was n saw the so called 2004 rebuild process and after the ODI in Chittagong were are at exactly the same juncture today, shamefully against the same team....as a national team that is hoping that the restructured domestic set up will assist.
Am just a realist and really think its time for a shift in attitude and in the way we view this whole issue. But will wait and see again just hope it does not take us a decade to realize...
