Re: [Series Thread] Zimbabwe A v Bangladesh A in Zimbabwe
Match drawn.
Great to see some of the young batters hit some form. I have a feeling we'll see Chari, Moor and possibly Burl in the Bangladesh Tests next year.

As I've said many times before, you can't ask more of a player than to turn in a career best so it's well done to Chari from me, I still maintain he shouldn't have been selected for this game after his performance in the 1st match but perhaps he's had a hard look in the mirror and will profit from it in the future, I hope so
A very risky strategy this afternoon playing, it seems, for a draw, you only need to lose a couple of wickets while not putting runs on the board and you can very quickly find yourself getting beaten, luckily Bangladesh couldn't get a breakthrough
Now we get a chance to see the 16 who have been in Bangladesh and the 15 or so in the A squad play domestic cricket, it will be good to see if the likes of Chari, Moor, Gumbie, Burl etc can outplay some of the 'seniors'

If I were the chairman of selectors I'd make the national team and the A team play 3 match 'test series' to keep players in form and check out who will cut the mustard for the BD tour. Leave the other guys to play the domestic comp and give our best players the best possibly match practice ......

I like the idea jaybro. Zim still has handful of quality players. The likes of PJ, Burl, Neville, Jongwe are exciting young talents and would be interesting to see how they do in the upcoming season. We are tired of seeing Chigs, Vusi, Bobby etc fail. Chigs is hopeless but I would still keep him as extra in the squad as we don't have a stable 6-7 batters yet. Once Burl, Raza or Waller take this spot we should get rid of Chigs exactly like how we did to Vusi and Prosper. We are tired of these guys underperforming for years, so there shouldn't be any harm in trying out the young players. I would pick the 15 based on current form:
Hami
PJ
Ervine
Williams
Burl
Waller
Raza
Jongwe
Neville
Cremer
Panny
Extras:
Chigs
Chibabha
Chatara

Hmm i wouldn't. Reason being i'd be very surprised if the test tour goes ahead- in fact i'm 99% sure it won't happen. If I were the chairman of selectors I'd make the national team and the A team play 3 match 'test series' to keep players in form and check out who will cut the mustard for the BD tour. A good draw and dominated more this time round..
PJMoor- doing exceptionally well. Chari standing up and showing what he can do and just needs consistency.
Burl a lucky inclusion i'm told to the test squad because of an injury- batted very well.
Godwill Mamhiyo- an exciting batter and captained well!
My favourite being #gumbiemania
Donald bowled well. Unlucky Vittori was injured. A good tour where we improved dramatically.
Still need to iron out some inbred bad habits and some players really need to go to pasture

It's too close to WC 20/20, Neither Bangla nor Zim will want to do 3 tests in jan with WC preparations for a completely different format imminent.
Probably be binned or put off to after the WC.....sometime.
