BT says Chigs is a quality player. I don't understand what makes people think he is a star player. He could fit as an allrounder if he bowls, but he doesn't deserve to be in the team solely as batsman. Jongwe can't bat, and we don't have any allrounders left in Zim, which is why he is surviving. If guys like Meth and Mire were still hanging around, with this current form and failure Chigumbura wouldn't be anywhere close to the national team.

maybe I may be reading too much into it but BT's confidently talks about streak and then stammers on about makhaya, 'how he is a peoples person'. For me that's the type of cricket speak I am tired of, though the interview was quite cool and honest, I just got a sense that he was trying to find nice things to say about Makhaya. Anyway...

I feel you're being very presumptuous Bayhaus, or maybe you're getting mixed up with Deano rubbishing him .....

I think BT has matured a lot over the last few years, and while I wasn't the greatest fan of his captaincy (apart from leading from the front with the bat) in hindsight I believe he was removed from the ODI captaincy at a time when he was starting to come into his own in that role on and off the field -- the latter being a hell of a job in itself within the ZC framework.
