Yea fuck being orthodox, send a wild card to Bangladesh and show one of these guys they're being considered for the future; might be an incentive for them to stay

Would be good if they could get a run in the domestic t20 Comp, but it starts today and the kids are still in BD ......

Re: [U19 World Cup] Zimbabwe vs SA - Playoff
In fairness Ryan Murray is the only one I wouldn't mind seeing in this T20 squad because we genuinely have a vacancy for the gloves; not impressed with Mutumbami's keeping, doesn't stay low for long enough; Mutizwa is out of the reckoning and Chakabva should be nowhere near a limited over side. Could give the gloves to Moor but, I'd prefer to see a specialist keeper in the sub continent, much like the aussies have done with Peter Neville and by dropping Wade. Neville is far from a T20 batter but his keeping is good enough for him to make the trip.
Murray bats, he's got great hands and he's arguably got the best hands in the country;
Get him in!

None of those kids are anywhere near international standards. Tatenda Taibu was voted player of the tournament at the u19 world cup. he is a special case. Most of the run rates at this tournament are below 5 an over. People forget how tough it is mentally to play against the big boys. whether we like him or not Mutumbami has been there and seen it. Maybe if Murray had been blasting back to back centuries at this world cup I would have had a different opinion but from what I have honestly seen the real talent in this team is from the bowling attack. my suggestion would be we get Makhaya Ntini to personally take Ngarava, Matigimu, Mashinge, Mumba and Bowie under his wings and instill that work ethic that he was famed for and get some gas in them. the t20 world cup already has about 13 guaranteed names out of 15

And Mutumbami shouldn't be one of them. Put Murray down at 10 then, I'm not bothered, I'm more bothered about a keeper who won't fuck up like Richie did in the UAE and Pakistan and Bangladesh this year. You pick your best wicket keeper, full stop.the t20 world cup already has about 13 guaranteed names out of 15

It sounds like this was a case of South Africa being especially undermanned/woeful rather than a case of us being any good, unfortunately. Teams like Nepal and Namibia finished better than us right?
That said, I saw parts of one game and the guy that stood out most was Jeremy Ives.
