Can it help Zimbabwae

Post by Mueddie28 »

The head of Australia's players' union has made a radical proposal to introduce a transfer system to "better utilise unemployed Test-quality players", suggesting a star such as unwanted England batsman Kevin Pietersen could be retained on the international scene by playing for a country such as Zimbabwe.

My views since Gary Ballance is benched or unwanted by England can he still play 4 Zim

Aussie 9th team would replace 8 of our players.

Not necessary. For example, in my mind Bangladesh are the current world champs because I just convince myself that Australia is really Bangladesh.

If a player wants to play test cricket for another nation they should do it the right way and qualify, by moving to the Zimbabwe and adding to the domestic setup whilst also helping develop the game seems a fair trade off for the chance to play test cricket IMO .....

Even though i dont agree with it the current system seems fair .......

Whilst I don't like the idea at all, qualification criteria could be eased so that genuine players could shift more easily. Ballance should be able to play for Zim after a shorter qualification period for example.

Question would Ballance ever consider playing for Zimbabwe?

I could get behind one naturalised player per team, much like international basketball. What I would want to avoid is mercenaries changing countries every 12 months. I could see Bravo, Gayle, etc going down that path if it were allowed.
