Re: ZIMBABWE CRICKET AND MATCH FIXING
I have a source who simultaneously has another source within the ZC ranks, and apparently 2 players within the squad are fixing games both internationally and domesticallygargamel wrote:Any thoughts on any games that you guys thought were rigged.

Re: ZIMBABWE CRICKET AND MATCH FIXING
Which games you reckon are fixed though? The last time Zim had a questionable loss was probably to Kenya and that was several years ago. I think certain players don't mind losing as long as they get fat paychecks, and others might not be putting in full effort but not sure that constitutes match fixing.

Fixing games or just spot-fixing?
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes

I've been saying this for years and everyone sniggered at the suggestion.

Re: ZIMBABWE CRICKET AND MATCH FIXING
I would say i felt the same for a long time especially after watching them
Play, getting into winning positions a few times aganist bangaladesh and then letting the game.
My main suspects will be Chigs , chokie and Willy
Mainly because Chigs allways over the last games he has come in when we need some on to make a run a ball contribution he throws he wicket away in suspect fashion, same as Willy he is very capable but seems to do exctally the same and i have also noticed that during the death over Chokie does excatly the same thing by bolwing half volleys as if to throw the game away.
Just my thoughts

Re: ZIMBABWE CRICKET AND MATCH FIXING
from the murmurs im hearing from the corridors is that the team picked is one that is meant to loose. Suspects so far include Chigs, Hamilton and Chamu .The instructions seem to come from the top and that the payouts run from anywhere from 25K to 100K pr game. Chigs is being suspected considering his recent acquistions which include a new range rover and a home in Southerton but it may just be earnings from his t20 excursions.

Do we have hard evidence of this? If so, I can get it to the top.

Yea I've been told the exact same thing...gargamel wrote:from the murmurs im hearing from the corridors is that the team picked is one that is meant to loose. Chigumbura and Chibahba by all accounts but, I won't believe it until there's physical evidence. It's all hearsay right now and it isn't fair to pin this on anyone without proof. Odd that we've both been given the same info though hey...
Re: ZIMBABWE CRICKET AND MATCH FIXING
This is interesting considering match fixers usually dont make much money if the underdog loses which we usually are. my suspicions would be the ODI games against Afghanistan where there were some ridiculous scores and bowling figures with the betting odds constantly changing especially in the last series. but I would still expect bookies to approach a team like Pakistan when they play us to throw a game not the other way round
Elton buying a nice car to me shows how overpaid the top players are contrary to popular belief. he definitely made around 200k last year if u factor in the world cup payment which was not that stupid amount BBC suggested and the PSL.
