FORMER Zimbabwe Under-19 all rounder Ryan Burl’s dream of playing against India in the forthcoming ODI and T20 series has been shattered by a knee injury suffered at yesterday’s training session at Queens Sport Club in Bulawayo.According to witnesses, Burl was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital where doctors attended to him and put his left knee into a plaster. It could not be established yesterday how long he will be out of action.
“They were playing touch rugby as it was fitness training for them. It seems he twisted his knee while running with the ball and everyone gathered around him as the medics attended to his knee before an ambulance was called to take him to hospital,” said a witness.
Efforts to get an update from Zimbabwe Cricket spokesman Lovemore Banda, who also accompanied Burl to hospital, were fruitless as he was not taking any calls.

That is so true..I am sure one of Ervine, Williams or PJ would get injured right before the series. We lose our best players before major tournaments, and come up with a medicore squad.![]()

None of the u19s are ready or good enough for international cricket yet.
My squad
1. Chamu Chibhaba
2. Hamilton Masakadza
3. Craig Ervine
4. Sikander Raza
5. Sean Wiliams
6. Vusi Sibanda
7. Malcolm Waller
8. PJ Moor (wk)
9. Graeme Cremer (c)
10. Tinashe Panyangara (as much as it hurts me)
11. Tendai Chatara (nicest guy ever)
I reckon this team could give India a run

I was really looking forward to seeing Ryan Burl put on the zim colours and put bat on ball, now i have to put up with Raza and his anxieties
Re: India Tour: pre-series thread
Yup, Ervine will come down with another hamstring injury on the morning of the first match. Matsi, Sibanda, Dabengwa, and other useless guys never seem to get the injury bug.
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes
Re: India Tour: pre-series thread
Any guesses to how many games Maruma and Muzarabani will play in this tour?
