Would you be sad if Zimbabwe Cricket died?
Re: Would you be sad if Zimbabwe Cricket died?
i personally dont think you cant really blame the players so much, as ong as they are trying (debatable) they are only as good as they are.
Not their failt they arent glenn maxwells and michael clarkes or bowl with the speed of Starc.
its like me blaming crimsonavenger for India crashing out of the world cup, hes only as good as he is.
The blame should be directed at those that foster the undesirable culture that leads to an exodus of epic proportions that we have seen.
Googly once mentiomed that some junior coaches have been turfed and replaced by random dudes ZC wanted to hook up. Not sure how true that is, but I do know that Zimbabwe as a nation do tolerate failure in society alot.
In American sport nothing would be tolerated like this, the board would have been gone the moment the worm turned downward.

hahahahha wormymelon love your sarcasm you racist ingrate cretin, everytime you put a smile on my black face.well at least if we die, we die fighting.
How many other groups can say they may have failed but they failed on their own terms?
we went down as one black nation, one black team. instead of compromising our ethics and remaining competitive but under minoritys watchful eye.
We will be respected for how we fell.

Re: Would you be sad if Zimbabwe Cricket died?
Zim cricket just wasn't sustainable, even with proper management. That the management is thoroughly corrupt and racist against whites means Zimbabwe are essentially a mid-level Associate side in terms of quality. The only hope is if somehow the likes of Taylor, Jarvis, Welch, Byrom, Curran bros came back and even then Zimbabwe could only hope to be about at the level of a West Indies or Pakistan.
Taylor has so far been, as good as is, an average county batsman. Only Jarvis has been notable, and his stats measure up to be almost identical to Neil Wagner - who is a very good fast bowler, but a 3rd seamer on a NZ team. Jarvis is slightly younger so he would make a fine spearhead for Zimbabwe.
Byrom had an excellent season in 2nd XIs last year, but this year has had a slow start, just one score of 63 in about 10 innings across formats. Welch has made it to the Sussex 2nd XIs this season...so will be interesting to follow his performances and see if he would have been as good as Taylor. Regardless, there is no doubt these are the most talented guys to come out of Zimbabwe.
But the likes of Jongwe, Panyangara, and Hamilton can only lead this team to be 3rd or 4th amongst the Associate sides.
With the ICC possibly taking a promotion/relegations stance beginning in 2019, its highly like Zimbabwe will find themselves in the Intercontinental Cup in another 10 years from now.

exactly Kriterion,
Zimbabwes ceiling was already limited to being a Sri Lanka/windies nation, but the admin has acted and been wasteful in the same way that only a top three nation can be.

If the top 3 did what ZC did, they have fallen a few rungs too at the level of a Pakistan.ZIMDOGGY wrote:exactly Kriterion,

But it may soon all be moot...if the ICC in fact adopts a merit based system, every team, including Zim will eventually find themselves where they belong.
