Chinouya called up as replacement. Yeah, him who has just featured in the A team games. Crazy.
Chatara out of the NZ Series
Re: Chatara out of the NZ Series
really failing to understand how the selectors are picking players at the moment.a lot of guys look like they have just been sidelined for no apparent reason

I miss Kenyon Ziehl.
Yes he picked conservatively, but hat is the alternative?
This madness?

Re: Chatara out of the NZ Series
I thought Chinouya was highly rated here. Obviously not as highly as Mumba, but still up there.
I guess a few posters here claim that Mumba is not yet ready for international cricket. Wouldn't be surprising as Test/ODI level is a huge jump for any player, but at least Mumba has youth and potential over guys like Mazarabani.

Chinouya was disappointing at the end of the franchise season, and he wasn't even selected in the Zimbabwe A team.Kriterion_BD wrote:I thought Chinouya was highly rated here. Obviously not as highly as Mumba, but still up there.

I have a bad feeling that Muzarabani is going to play in the first test now.
Re: Chatara out of the NZ Series
With an attack of Chatara, Panyangara, Jongwe/Tiripano and Cremer I would have been confident of being able to take 15-20 wickets .....
An attack of Ncube, Tiripano, Muzarabani and Cremer will be flat out taking 10, and if we only bowl once 5 will be a big ask ......
I don't understand how our players are so injury prone when we play such little cricket .....
Honestly why is Taibu a selector he should be wicket keeping lol ......
If we bowl first I'm tipping Williamson for a triple century ......

Re: Chatara out of the NZ Series
The decision to bring in Chinouya was made by Makhaya and Cremer.. Apparently Taibu was against this. Taibu is back in the UK now. Taibu wanted one off Shingi, Nyauchi or Aliseni to replace Chatara.. Yep your Captain and coach are clueless.. Cremer brought in his boy from Rhinos even though this bowler picked up 3 wickets in the Logan Cup last season. The best possible attack would have been Nyauchi, Tiripano, Shingi/Aliseni and Chisoro. Chisoro is by far the best spinner in the country at the moment..
Re: Chatara out of the NZ Series
Have Chisoro and Jongwe not yet been forgiven for the whole incident before the India series? really thought they would have at least played the A games. I still think Cremer is the best spinner but I also think Chisoro has got a load of potential when it comes to the bounce he sometimes extracts with his spin. we really are not doing ourselves any favours here.
Re: Chatara out of the NZ Series
With Makhaya, Cremer, and Taibu we have a real brains trust involved. Mangongo is probably smarter than all three combined.
