Eatern Lions (Manicaland and Masheast) , Takashinga 2 Patriots and Muzeveze (Midlands) all register wins. All Matland sides loose in the first round of the ZPL. Scoresheets and log table should be available some time tommorrow on crichq https://www.crichq.com/#competitions/72 ... 4209/rounds

Re: [Series Thread] Zimbabwe Premier League
3 of the 4 score sheets are in . Some interesting results and performances. A 16 year old Mason Chikowero takes 5 for 8 in 5 overs claims the scalps of Jongwe , Maregwede, Matanag and Chisoro. All the away teams won their games and it seems we dont have any real good quicks to add on to our stock pile. The man of the moment Mike Chinouya bowled tidily for no wickets. Kudzi Sauramna leads the Batting Charts with 87 with Chikowero and Nyumbu leading the way for the bowlers. The MVP after round one is Kuda Munyede. Best under 19 so far is Milton Shumba

Keep the news coming. This should be a great opportunity to see who is really pushing for a crack at franchise level.

Re: [Series Thread] Zimbabwe Premier League
Dougie Hondo has or is set to leave for the Uk this week to have a look at some guys in the UK.Particular insterest will be Mavhuta . The engagement of white players will only happen if they commit. The issue at the moment is that the white boys are only committed to get stats at under 19 level and then the evaporate soon after for the Uk never to be seen again. The older guys are non committal as they know their true worth and would prefer to be plumbers and not be tossed about the franchises with delayd payment of salaries and no medical or rehab cover while injured on duty. There are some serious white players past internationals ive seen who would come back if the pay and selection processes were fair. Its not quite right at the momment.

Re: [Series Thread] Zimbabwe Premier League
saw some white ones in BD in last U19 wc who were promising. All left to Uk? is there any hidden quota for black player? the questions may seem irritating. But as a well-wisher for Zim cricket, I want to know these.gargamel wrote:Dougie Hondo has or is set to leave for the Uk this week to have a look at some guys in the UK.Particular insterest will be Mavhuta . So he's flying all the way there to watch Mavhuta play a game this weekend? What happens if he doesn't take a wicket, will he stay and enjoy for another week? I'm surprised they haven't sent the Board and all the cronies.
What's there to look at? Mavhuta will be back here end of August unless he decides to disappear into Slough for 7 years.
If they watch the U19 WC tapes they can see him on there and I would think he's probably slightly improved on that. I've just saved ZC thousands.
