If true, does this also mean Prince is not getting his debut? Might have been a good option especially with Mawoyo out, with his batting form, and with his left arm medium giving us a variation. Could have played in addition to Chamu and Chinouya. Looks like Raza is getting a game after all then.

Having the right technique to survive against quality bowling is a different matter of course.
At best a workmanlike 50 or 60 from Sean Williams and thats about it. Maybe Hammy can get close to 80 if he bats well. Have seldom had such a bad feeling about a Test, the way Zim A folded against New Zealand is ominous and doesn't bode well with current players only slightly better than Zim A.
I saw somewhere Kriterion is hoping for about 700 runs from Zimbawe; that is wildly optimistic. If we get 340 in the first innings I will be very happy.
I reckon Chamu is gonna struggle coz he can't rotate strike though his bowling might turn out handy.
So, two fast bowlers then, with Chibhabha as back up. Cremer and Williams will support. So Ervine and Masakadza have a very big job on their hands. We will know soon enough if they can rise to the occasion.
I can't believe in such a weak team they failed to find a spot for Prince Musvaure.

I missed it, shame no debut for Masvaure. This may also mean a game for Mutumbami.CrimsonAvenger wrote:If true, does this also mean Prince is not getting his debut? Possible XI: 1 Chari 2 Chibhabha 3 H Masakadza 4 C Ervine 5 Williams 6 Chakabva 7 Raza 8 Mutumbami/Ncube 9 Cremer 10 Tiripano 11 Chinuoya.

Pretty excited to see ZIM take the field in whites. This 20 month break is almost a third of the 6 year break they took. I'm hoping to catch the first session before heading off to bed.

Streams anyone?
Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe v New Zealand: 1st Test
That's actually not too bad, given the squads they had to pick from. Our bowling is not going to rip them apart, but we've got Dr Dependable Tiripano in the mix. The only people who might not bowl are Ervine and Regis!jaybro wrote:Chibhabha, Chari, Hamilton, Ervine, Williams, Raza, Prince, Regis, Cremer, Tiripano, Chinouya

Peterhouse U14C 4th change bowler and no. 10 batsman (but only because Aaron didn't have a bat).
