How? and why? When he actually was a designated selector, he did not even know that he was one, and got himself embarrassed in a press conference royally prior to the recent Pak series. Crazy.

Indeed. Additional responsibilities for Hondo. This from another thread: http://zimcricketforums.com/viewtopic.p ... 202#p95218

What do the whites have to commit to? Is there a form they have to sign? Can you post it on here. I think the cricket community needs to see what the promises are and an undertaking by the Board that they resign en masse if they fail to uphold their end of the agreement. They would all be gone within a week.

Re: [Series Thread] Zimbabwe Premier League
Rainbow Tigers defeated a Tendai Chatara led Eatsren Lions by 141 runs . Rainbow set 249 in its 37 overs after a 66 from Tari "shrek" Chikuuya and a stunning Blitz by Tino Mafusire who scored 54(38) balls as he took Chatara and Kasuza to the cleaners and a steady 35(41) from Munyede. Eastern Lions reply was lead by Chatatra who openned the bolwing with a 20 before a collapse instigated by Madhevere and Munyede saw the lions being bowled out for 105.
Takashinga 1 Patriots bounced back with a win against Takashinga 2 Patriots who were bowled out for 155 in the first innings. Score cards should be available tommorrow or Tuesday on CricHq

am i the only 1 who thinks this is nothing but a cover
up league, i mean we are giving game time to who ?
most ofthese people already play franchise & are
useless adding u19s cant even make them better. we
have 2 takashinga teams really & we are expecting to
find gems in the country. Likes of kaia, mutombodzi
should be discarded they are useless kamungozi etc
Where are the young gems i only see madhevere, shumba
are they the only good kids we have no & theyre not
even the best in the country where is murray, matigimu ?
they cant even get game time so whats the point of
this league.. maybe to add more amateurs into our
provincials ... again this is nothing but a cover up
i bet st johns, falon & peterhouse schools can beat
all those sides cleanly even churchill with mavhuta,
madhevere & shumba , ngarava etc can outplay
those pretend squads .. i just dont see its purpose

Re: [Series Thread] Zimbabwe Premier League
I agree with you. They're just buying time, there are no real quality cricketers coming through that system and everyone knows it. The guys in our squad are the best we've got and there's a chasm between them and the next level down and no one there to make the step up. Burl and Moor should be playing. We're playing Test cricket with a base of 20 half decent players and no one else and how we are pulling that off is laughable. ICC must be as desperate as we are. There's more depth in Alice Springs than here.
Aliseni and Moor must play the next game.
Taibu should be taboo.

Re: [Series Thread] Zimbabwe Premier League
We could have 30 first class teams and these young guys wouldn't get a game. Our selection policies are the problem, not the number of teams.

Re: [Series Thread] Zimbabwe Premier League
I seriously beg to differ on your opinions on the ZPL. I think its going on quite well and the competition is quite competitive. You need to be in it to see the benefit that it has on th under 19s and guys obscured by the system limiting the opportunities of the other players from Franchise cricket. Who knew there was a 15 year old who would take 5 wickets against a side made up of season provincial players. who would say that Chatara would be flayed ALL over the park by a guy who is one of the best allrounders in Zimbabwe but has not played FC cricket. this is the platform.
The ZPL is based on having the best club teams within each province playing each other. Takashinga has 2 teams based on the fact that they finished 2nd and 3rd in the Vigne cup behind Rainbow. The qualification process helps in the first refinement stage of teams and players before the FC season thus raising the quality of the competition as these are the best clubs in Zimbabwe not randomly selected you have to qualify through 2 rounds if not 3 in smaller province. May i remind everyone that this is similar if not the same as the old National League which was a successful supplement to the old Provincial cricket and a basis for national and provincial selection.
We have guys here advocating to have guys such as Ngarava( was in england and fired by his club proving he is rubbish the same goes for Musoko) Moor (with national team) Burl (on crutches) to play but the fact is if they are not with a winning club they have to be invited and being a prick or being a flakey on committing to club cricket wont see you play or b invited to join a qualified team. The clubs or ZC cannot impose national team players on a team. Moor is in the Muzevezev Tigers team so he should play after the newzealnd series is done where we should see the national team players be active.
The so called covering over the cracks is a wrong perception. ZC has taken the advice to restructure grass roots and this is one of the starting points as advised by Googly who is not a dim wit a great cricket admin mind who i look for advice. So give it a chance we are bloody negative bunch here when someone tries somthing all the expert critics come out with negativ energy lets be positive for a change,

I hope you are correct. Forgive our negativity, but ZC haven't exactly done much to build up our trust.gargamel wrote:I seriously beg to differ on your opinions on the ZPL. @ gargamel as we might like to believe or wish it was
true its very hard when you see people like nyumbu
batting @5, chisoro @ 4 scoring runs. lawrence magwenzi
piling runs , blessed muzite too like these guys are
somewhat special & can be our hope it just takes the
energy out, chatara is opening batsman now is this what we have in the country ?
You talk of a 15 year old tearing down, collapsing a
batting lineup picking up 5-fors really?, shumba &
madhevere are big timers now..that doesnt suit well
for me .. the likes of shane chigumbura from takashinga
are rugby players & hit the nets when they re not
practising but they make the league .how? . I thought
its purpose was to bring out talent that cant get game
time in franchise or those being overlooked, game time
to kamungozi, chatara, kaia , mutumbodzi is franchise
cricket with a different name no new talent, just
overhyped losers plus a couple of young overhyped
players then bamm zpl..I was hoping to see what
murray could do against seasoned franchise players,
how matigimu bowls up against sibanda, chakabva,
jongwe vs diplock the likes get in suprise players
a peacemore zimwa, calum price ...mavhuta,snyder
lets see whatour new batch is against the old seasoned
horses... seeing clive chitumba getting game time ,
kamungozi just makes me vomit theyre talentless
&thats why we have no real standard in our franchise
Not taking away from the good it brings too but overally
