Protest onSaturday the 6th during second Test match

Evan Mawarire has called on all Zimbabweans to attend the Cricket Match on Saturday the 6th and during the 36th over everyone in attandance has to Stand up and sing the national athem with their flag as a sign of protest for the 36 years of misrule by the Lunatic Robert Mugabe.
Special mention to Andy flower and Henry olonga for being brave enough to protest aganist this years ago

Definitely makes sense to do this to catch attention of world media. High time something like this was done.

On the flip side, what if a lot of people turn up, we bat first and won't even last 36 overs?

On a positive note ZC should increase the entrance fees and make some much needed revenue.

Somebody had better reassure the Kiwis that they are not going to be cannibalized. Nobody has seen more than 10 people (including the barmen and ice cream vendors!) at a Zim Test since 2004. Plus, if in their misguided exuberance any people, including those disgusting cops, run onto the pitch that will be a further set back for our cricket, as if we needed more problems. A $1 entry should make it too expensive for more than 50 of Zimbabwe's richest people to gain access.

This has potential to go upside down. Think about it, the likelihood of a bunch of angry people assembling during an internationally televised game and protesting in an orderly fashion without some sort of reaction from misguided riot police is slim. Will the crowd not taunt the cops, will they not react? Can the regime allow this to take place in the first place? Will the ZANU ZC regime allow entry? Mmmm.... if this happens it's going to be very interesting.

At the very least someone will jump the barrier and run round the pitch with a flag. The authorities (I use that term loosely) will be obliged to react. This goes way beyond a black armband protest. It's also right next door to the official State House, whose security are notoriously unfriendly and violent, they won't even let you collect a cricket ball!
Being the coward I am I will be watching this from the safety of the roof of the high rise overlooking the ground. Had some great braais up there.

I think he announced to early he should have announced this on a Friday just one day before the test,Now the regime has time to think of a counter response including stoping the Test match all together or some other senseless tactic.
This should be intresting to watch as the drama will be captured live in TV .

I predict a protester running unto the pitch and aZRP officer closely behind with a button stick,Ready to unleash some beatings on a defenseless hungry freedom fighter.

Good luck, but I don't think you will catch much of the cricket or the protests, should there be any, the Test match being played at QSC
