Prince is early in his career. Williams has years of inconsistency.

After 96 ODI's, Williams has scored 24 half centuries and an ODI hundred. His average of 33 is only one behind Brendan Taylor. Solid on Zimbabwean terms. Has a first class average of 43 with 8 centuries in only 47 games.

After 65 FC games (118 innings!), Masvaure has scored 2 centuries and 16 half centuries, having never played any international cricket until now. My point is, while Williams has been playing international cricket (mainly ODI's), PM has been playing domestic cricket without any real success nor consistency. His List A figures are fucking chronic, almost Chari esq so I won't even go there.

To put PM even in the same space as Williams just shows how silly your argument is, suggesting that your Prince has been some kind of consistent domestic rock who's been getting all the runs while Williams has been some inconsistent flop. It's the complete and utter other way round dude, and the stats are there for all to see.

Williams was our number 2 while BRM was knocking about simply because he scored runs against the international sides with higher standing, where as (imo) Mazakadza came out of his shell when the lower ranked sides were out to play (Kenya, Bangladesh) in years gone by. Williams is without doubt or best batter, with Craig Ervine now our number 2.

If PM gets anywhere near the Sean Williams type of class I'll be the first to say how happy i am, because after all we're all fans of Zim and want the best.
But I dount he will, especially since he's 27 and is getting to his peak age

Masvaure has had to cope with the pressure of anchoring weak domestic sides, whereas Williams has largely enjoyed a career as part of more powerful batting lineups - much easier to score runs when your team is winning.

Prince looks like he's going to eat his way to early retirement. He doesn't have the fitness to last in international cricket. And thats if he can even bat.

In tests Id put Ervine ahead of Williams. Willy is too fickle and lacks the technique. But they are daylights ahead of anyone else in ZIM. Raza is alao too fickle otherwise he'd be #3.

Interestingly I just read that Williams is the second best paid player after Elton on 7500 a month. never thought that was possible considering his disciplinary issues with the board. I guess they realized how much of an asset he is.. I doubt Elton is going to continue on 8000 after losing the captaincy. I hope they get Ervine up there with Williams
