HMCA Vigne Cup 2016/17

Post by Flakeman »

The HMCA held their AGM on Friday and the season is set to start in 2 weeks. Will be very interesting to see how all players go this season and I think scores will be put on CricHQ so we can all follow it this time.

Round 1 - September 18 2016

Katundu Kings vs Uprising @CFX
Rainbow vs Takashinga 1 @OGs
Royal vs Old Malvernians @OH
Takashinga 2 vs Old Hararians @Takashinga

What does this mean for the ZPL and the franchise system?

ZPL will probably fade away. Franchise is a joke and nobody knows what is going on there. 1st League in Zim is a very good standard and is much similar to Franchise anyway so will be a good thing if we can get everyone on CricHQ all the time

The Chairman of HMCA is determined and backed by a board that wants to run the league as a professional Association. ZC's failure with ZPL are worrying but the HMCA board wont have a set league program disrupted by ZC financial concerns. The defence forces now have 4 teams with 2 white rhinos team from the army , Manyame Helliz from the Airforce with a new revamped ground and Newlanders Police Protection Unit which will bring in the Old Morris Depot ground back to life so capacity wise for 2nd league grouunds has increased pressure is still on First League grounds. The dates will be confirmned once the ZC balls have arrived hopefully by Friday.

the franchise should just be dissolved as planned, useless
in every sense same players getting game time same
players topping the leaderboards, little game time
We can just move to metro league hmca, bmca etc
more teams, more game time, more players plus private
owned teams means better managing in terms of
coaches & team selection

If it starts working half decently those muppets at ZC will find a way of involving themselves and messing it up. Let's see... Hopefully this goes well. Well done Gargamel, if you're involved.

Seems to my amazement, the league will start on time next week. According to a meeting tonight.

What are the squads like who is playing where?
