Agreed. It can't get any better. We do read long interviews in print once in a while, but to get to listen to someone and the Pandora's box getting opened up is something else. You can feel the emotions this way, listening to him.

Best parts for me were when he spoke of his interactions with Andy Flower and Guy Whittall, and the surreal last part, about the turn of events that made him run for his life and how it all unraveled.

Is his book out yet?
Some stuff doesn't add up. So he left because he didn't like the thievery and whatever else he was alluding to (just spit it out, don't tell half the story), went to Gono (who pulled his protection!!) and was getting death threats and all, but now works for the same people that wanted to kill him and we are expecting a happy outcome? What am I missing? Did they promise not to kill him if he promised not to expose them? If he's the long winded man of God he claims to be then he must be unafraid and stand up and tell all. God will punish him if he now joins them.

I am interested in some of those questions. I think Taibu may have answers, and perhaps there has been stuff sorted that isn't easy to diplomatically share.

Zimbabwe is not about holding grudges. It is a game of constantly evolving alliances. Your enemy today can be your friend tomorrow if you figure out how to make money together.

Sums it up pretty much. Can't believe how even guys like Streak and Taibu make so many comebacks in different roles despite standing up to, and against, certain principles earlier. May be we as outsiders should look at those miraculously feeble chances of good happening due to their presence and carry on with hope...

Another interview from a couple of month earlier here: https://audioboom.com/boos/4727818-tate ... uth-africa

He discusses how he came to be playing cricket in Liverpool, his Church work, and why he performed well against SA.

I wonder what would have happened if Taibu had joined that 2004 protest.. would he have just been another Olonga or would they have actually managed to bargain a deal.

If Taibu had joined the strike ZC would have negotiated with him separately, thrown him some money and bought his support. It was imperative to ZC at the time that it was only white players striking.
