Make Green Pitches to trouble Sri Lanka in Test Sereis

Post by SINCERE »

Pitches in Zimbabwe over last 2 to 4 years have become spin friendly. Though Harare, offers some assistance to pacers at the beggining of the match in morning, but the pitch becomes slow later, which gives much assistance to spinners, but Bulawayo has become totally a spin friendly pitch, pacers really found tough to bowl at Bulawayo.

Sri Lanka has got some top quality spinner including the great Rangana Herath, De Silva, Perera and their new sensation chinaman bowler Sandakan might trouble Zimbabwe as pitches in Zimbabwe have become much slower & spin friendly.

But, the same Sri Lankan Team were smashed 2-0 in test against England in UK, where the pacers got much help from green tracks with seam and swing. Sri Lankan Batsman found tough going in seaming and bouncy tracks. With the retirement of Malinga from Test, Sri Lankan Pace attack is not so scary compared to their spinners, Nuwan Pradeep their best pacer is not there, Lakmal is not in average form right now.

With their skipper Mathews & quality batsman Chandimal out, Sri Lankan squad is quite new, and there is now little difference between Zimbabwe & Sri Lanka in terms of experience. ZIMBABWE CRICKET SHOULD PROVIDE FAST GREEN SEAMING TRACKS TO SRI LANKA TO PROVIDE THEM SOME TROUBLES, AND TO HAVE SOME GREAT FIGHT. MUMBA, MUZARBANI & CHAMU CHIBHABHA CAN TROUBLE THIS LESS EXPERIENCED SRI LANKAN SIDE WITH SEAM & SWING. ZIMBABWE ARE KEEN IN PLAYING GREEN PITCHES& COULD HANDLE SRI LANKAN PACE ATTACK COMPARED TO THEIR POWERFUL SPIN ATTACK

I agree with you here.

If Zimbabwe prepares a spin friendly wicket like always, it'll be trouble. Sri Lanka has quality spinners in Herath, Perera, Sandakan, De Silva. They created a spin web and whitewashed Australia at home.

Good sign, Zimbabwe has picked one frontline spinner in the squad & that's Graeme Cremer. I'm guessing 3 frontline pacers (Mpofu, Mumba, Tiripano) will be playing.
