Zim ODI Squad Announced

Post by CrimsonAvenger »

Zim ODI Squad: Cremer Chari Musakanda Mumba Mpofu Masakadza Chibhabha Ervine Williams Moor Tiripano Panyangara Raza Chisoro Waller Chigumbura
From Liam's tweet: https://twitter.com/Gomorezvidinha/stat ... 8924854272

This is very disappointing. Over stability. I can understand not wanting to change much between two tests, but clearly carrying a lot of players who are not suited to this format is appalling.

Those who should have definitely not been there: Chari, Waller
Iffy selections: Mpofu, Panyangara

Those who definitely deserved their chances: Madziva, Nyauchi

Given that we are playing more at Byo, needed another spinner in addition to Chisoro and Cremer. Either Wellington / Mufudza.

Moor is the undisputed keeper with no backup too. That does not fill me with confidence. May be Chari and Waller made the squad as backup keepers?

interesting.. I guess it is true that Streak has a soft spot for Mpofu. picking him over Madziva simply defies logic. a young up and coming bowler who has won games for us already against a spent force. not very motivating for the youngsters.

Both Waller & Masakadza were flop in test sereis, Masakadza was also flop in odis & t20s against India & tests against New Zealand, but masakadza, Waller still selected. Madvaure, Nayuchi, N.Waller deserved another go after doing well against Pakistan A.

Try getting your eyes tested old boy, CrimsonAvenger clearly states that both Masakadza and Waller have been selected so where does the boring old racism routine come in :?:

Madziva and Nyauchi deserved a run IMO .....

The rest is pretty good Waller and Chigs to fight it out for the No.7 spot to slog at the end, maybe Waller could bat @8 and bowl spin as well .....

So chibuabha has no shot as an opening batsman
Why not go with 5 specialist bowlers

Sibanda probably feels hard done by, he performed pretty well against India in our last odi series top scored I believe ? But has been cast away for Brian Chari .....
