Whats wrong with Ireland?secretzimbo wrote: ↑Mon Jan 03, 2022 1:27 pm
They are flying to St Kitts later today I think. The WC itself it is likely going to be a strict bubble, so hopefully they can enjoy the last few days of freedom before then. Rare that a Zimbabwean team gets to tour somewhere nice like this these days. They can all look forward to a senior career of endless tours to the third-world and Ireland.

It's a good place to get off your tits in the pub, fair enough. Jongwe probably had a great time. But generally it's cold, miserable, not a huge amount for young people to see and do apart from drink. Nice enough to visit for a weekend but I doubt a load of 25-year-old athletes are too excited about the place. Especially every two years.
I think anyone would rather tour to the Caribbean, Australia, England (London!) or even NZ. Places we never go to anymore sadly.

Limiting this to cricket nations, There’s countries you just wouldn’t care about (Pakistan, Afghanistan etc)
There’s countries that are great to live but shit to visit (Ireland, 90% of England, mayyyyyyyyyyybe Holland)
Countries great to visit and shit to live
(India, West Indies, anywhere in Asia, maybe SL and SA)
And countries both great to visit and live
(Australia, NZ, London)

Obviously I'd proudly put Zimbabwe in that last category, but I don't think many would agreeZIMDOGGY wrote: ↑Mon Jan 03, 2022 7:34 pmLimiting this to cricket nations, There’s countries you just wouldn’t care about (Pakistan, Afghanistan etc)

Anyway, I hope these 4 boys with Covid don't have to isolate too long. Missing out on crucial net sessions I'm sure. Hopefully we have a full squad on the 9th for the Bangladesh warm-up but sounds unlikely. Will try and find which 4 players they are.

And then there's Zimbabwe, best place on the planet, but we have to deal with muppets trying to wreck it.
