How about Mominul though? Mushy is world class but he has 6 hundreds from 64 Tests. Mominul has 7 from 31. True he’s a home and flat track bully, but Mushy has played in every game Mominul has.sloandog wrote: ↑Mon Nov 12, 2018 4:41 pmYep, I agree.Kriterion_BD wrote: ↑Mon Nov 12, 2018 4:25 pmIf they just cross the follow on, we could declare right away and try for the win.sam_ahm wrote: ↑Mon Nov 12, 2018 10:10 amZimbabwe have shut down shop very early. I don't mind it much, but I always feel it is good to keep scoring runs as you will bat out time anyways. Saving the follow on in itself will make it difficult for Bangladesh to push for a win as they will have to bat again.
Now two or three quick wickets and you find you don't have too much on the board anyways.
Even 323 is a pretty hefty score on a turning wicket.
I'm personally quite happy Bangladesh have come back from their defeat so well, so far. I know we all support Zim, but when these two aren't playing I'm a massive fan of the tigers and have followed them a lot since the 2015 CWC, as Krit knows.

I’m just saying he’s a cut above talent-wise. I know that’s not everything, but it helps. So what if he doesn’t mingle or possibly has a bit of attitude, this is not a popularity contest, we’re trying to keep good players in the system, there’s only a few of them and they have to remain, black and white. That’s why we need an admin that put the players first, not themselves. When our over thirties hang up their boots our shit is so deep we will have to substitute the snorkel for scuba gear.
It would be a further indictment to our system if we’ve got 38 year olds that are still better than up and comijng players, and that is definitely going to happen unless we back guys like Burl and Murray.

Ugly day the spinners really have played terribly in this match, as Kriterion said the Slyhet pitch helped our guys more than the Bangas.
We really need to bat until lunch Day 4 at the minimum if we’re any chance at saving this, thinking if we go at 70 runs a session (which is what we’ve been doing) that would take us to around the follow on mark. Bangladesh will then bat for about 3 hours leaving us to survive the final hour on day 4 and all of day 5.
Ideally BT and Willy will put on 300 and we pass 450-500 and that will pretty much draw it, as I said earlier it’s time for BT to stand up in a test match, he’s really disappointed since his return in this format.

I think this tour has shown Mavuta still has a lot to learn and needs consistency to be a regular contributor in internationals, he looked great bowling on a mindfield in Slyhet but you won’t get that every game.
Raza and Williams also struggled in conditions that didn’t suit them so I think it’s clear Alexander Graeme Cremer is still the No.1 spinner in Zimbabwe

Cremer would have wrecked havoc in Sylhet. But on this pitch he’d probably have taken figures of 4-200 if he bowled a lot of overs. Otherwise he’d prolly have been 2-120 or something.jaybro wrote: ↑Mon Nov 12, 2018 9:01 pmI think this tour has shown Mavuta still has a lot to learn and needs consistency to be a regular contributor in internationals, he looked great bowling on a mindfield in Slyhet but you won’t get that every game.

Surely no one was questioning Cremer as the no1 spinner? It's him and then daylightjaybro wrote: ↑Mon Nov 12, 2018 9:01 pmI think this tour has shown Mavuta still has a lot to learn and needs consistency to be a regular contributor in internationals, he looked great bowling on a mindfield in Slyhet but you won’t get that every game.

Ok, so I missed what looks like a horror show. Back on board today for a Chari once in a lifetime knock. And with the captain finally working things out and putting the Don in his rightful place at Number 3 everything should be fine.
Re: [Match Thread] Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe, 2nd Test, Dhaka
It's important they don't just bat for time and get bogged down. Scoring runs is still important. They should be looking to rotate the strike still when they can and playing their shots on the bad ball. Avoiding the follow on is still something to consider particularly if you lose quick wickets. If all batsmen become bogged down, it is very easy to lose concentration and throw your wicket away.
