If anyone should be criticized, it's Mangongo: it's not Maruma's fault that he's not an opener. In one of the Mangongo interviews, he went on a bit about the fact that everyone in the side was assigned a role and had to stick to it. If Maruma's role was to contribute towards softening up the ball, then certain people will argue that he's done his job, even if it only contributed 10 runs to the scoreboard!
But enough of that. This leads me to the fact that Bangladesh were looking pretty toothless once the ball got soft. If we can get through the first 10 overs today unscathed, the 2nd new ball will be 20 overs old, and we should be able to do something useful with it.
Did anyone notice that Robiul Islam was looking quite sore when he was brought on for the new ball? If he breaks down, they could be in for some trouble...
Peterhouse U14C 4th change bowler and no. 10 batsman (but only because Aaron didn't have a bat).
