Hardly think Williams is messing anyone around.
Can't blame a guy for hesitating to sign a contract with a corrupt and inept administration.

How dare Williams mess us around and demand things like money and being paid on time.

Next thing he'll be expecting ZC to treat him like a human being.

Oh, the mad gaiety of it all

Haha that always kills me. Some of those kids have never even seen a cricket bat. Reminds me of that SA game when the ball boy fielded the ball inside the boundary and got run over by the fielder (Morkel?)

I think there are a few overly harsh words said about Maruma -- now that hhm is no longer around to elevate him to batting/bowling superstardom there's really no place for this.

Of course he's not an opener, but he did reasonably well in trying conditions to survive the first hour and actually looked more at ease than Vusi. Just imagine Waller/Ervine/Taylor taking strike in the first over.

From what I've seen yesterday he is a much improved batsman from when we last saw him. His technique looks better than Waller's (not that that counts for much, but still) and I reckon he would not do much worse than Waller/Ervine in the middle order, i.e. end up with a Test average in the high twenties at best. It's not as if he is competing with Hussey or M. Clarke.

If anyone should be criticized, it's Mangongo: it's not Maruma's fault that he's not an opener. In one of the Mangongo interviews, he went on a bit about the fact that everyone in the side was assigned a role and had to stick to it. If Maruma's role was to contribute towards softening up the ball, then certain people will argue that he's done his job, even if it only contributed 10 runs to the scoreboard!

But enough of that. This leads me to the fact that Bangladesh were looking pretty toothless once the ball got soft. If we can get through the first 10 overs today unscathed, the 2nd new ball will be 20 overs old, and we should be able to do something useful with it.

Did anyone notice that Robiul Islam was looking quite sore when he was brought on for the new ball? If he breaks down, they could be in for some trouble...
Peterhouse U14C 4th change bowler and no. 10 batsman (but only because Aaron didn't have a bat).

Before we all jump on the band wagon to back lash Mangongo, i think we should give him credit for putting in Maruma he did do his job which was to soften the ball and occupy the crease which is what Mawoyo usually does he was quite good at this, and he got out to a very good delivery from the bangaladesh bolwer who bolwed very well in this first 10 overs. Vusi on the other hand was the one who was suppose to be aggressive and was leaving balls. Mangongo's approach might be some what awkward but if it brings us winnings i say let him do it.

Maruma did not do his job. If you are in there to bat time, 41 balls isn't long enough, especially with a regulation nick in the first over. Hopefully he will do better in the 2nd dig, but in no world is 10 off 41 doing his job. If you are not there to score runs but simply face balls then you need to at least face 75 delivieries. Had he have scored 20 off 80 then we might be able to say he did something for the team. Hami as I said earlier played that role for his 25 off 100.

Richmond has his chance. Now Taylor will have less options than had Elton remined.
