There used to be a fast bowler of Namibia named Klazinga. Don't know where he is these days but their team is strengthen by the return of Christi Viljeon.
He was a good bowler Klazinga. Rumours abound that he had to curtail his career due to injuries which was a shame.

My best mate is a personal friend of Gerri Snyman, and he was reportedly very very quick when he was younger. He said at the 2003 Cricket World Cup he had to bowl almost half pace due to a chronic back problem, hence why he now bowls spin.

A seriously hard hitting batter as well, I watched him play for the lashings XI. Big guy.

Namibia, all in all, have enough talent dropping through every year. But, they are nowhere near even Zimbabwe. As I say, JJ Smit has a bit of pace and tends to get some good bounce, but they don't have any real prodigies coming through.

Christie Viljeon only came back and played for Namibia because it did not interfere with his committments in NZ. Other than that he has no affiliation with the side and won't be playing in the qualifiers.

Back in 2003, they probably had only a couple of international players with real potential, now they probably have 6 all in all. The Scholtz brothers are very good, Craig Williams is a class act too.

Hoping they can get off the ground and start winning and beating

Tbh its astonishing that they play in SA domestic but still they are unable to beat the likes of Oman/UAE comfortably. I know they play at State-level but most of the SA players like Rabada, Markram started their careers from State cricket and even AB was playing in a State game last year.

Yea exactly. I find it amazing.

We had a pro (Tyler Trenowerth who was originally going to be in the Zimbabwe RS squad) and he said to crack the provincial structure was really tough. He played a few games and did really well but he said the standard was sky high.
I do find it astonishing that Namibia are not crunched in most of their games

Look at the field set. Even my club side has better field set than this

Shocking to see that many Associatees experts don't really rate Namibia.

Think they are top of both the 3 day comp and the one day comp in South Africa. They should be firm favourites along with the UAE when you take into account the home conditions.

Agree about Craig Williams, a class act. Very much in the mold of Scott Styris with bat and ball

And a solid FC batting average of 40.
He's played a lot for Namibia, arguably their best ever player?
