I'm now going with promise and flexibility. A guy who can bat and rotate strike well in the middle order, or open the innings and score quickly - based on what we have seen so far. And bowl some really useful off spin. Youthful exuberance.

With over 700 youth ODI runs predominantly as an opener, as my pick #35, I'd pick the promise of Wesley Madhevere, whose current ODI batting average stands at 46.
Kriterion_BD: (#1) Heath Streak, (#8) Guy Whittall, (#9) Alistair Campbell, (#16) Craig Ervine, (#17) Kyle Jarvis, (#24) Stuart Carlisle, (#25) Hamilton Masakadza, (#32) Tendai Chisoro, (#33) Ryan Murray

eugene: (#2) Andy Flower, (#7) Murray Goodwin, (#10) Andy Blignaut, (#15) Paul Strang, (#18) Tatenda Taibu, (#23) Duncan Fletcher, (#26) Tendai Chatara, (#31) Vusi Sibanda, (#34) Dougie Marillier

CrimsonAvenger: (#3) Grant Flower, (#6) David Houghton, (#11) Eddo Brandes, (#14) Elton Chigumbura, (#19) Sean Williams, (#22) Ray Price, (#27) Peter Rawson, (#30) Charles Coventry, (#35) Wesley Madhevere

jaybro: (#4) Brendan Taylor, (#5) Neil Johnson, (#12) Sean Ervine, (#13) Graeme Cremer, (#20) Sikander Raza, (#21) Kevin Curran, (#28) Barney Rogers, (#29) Henry Olonga

Stuart Matsikenyeri actually played against the best and toured Australia, England & South Africa, so I think it's fair to say his numbers compared to the likes of Wishart, Marillier & Ebrahim are fair and on an even playing field.
Yeah agree. Matsi did get exposed to all quality opposition, but the only problem was, a bit too early. If they had waited till say 2006, we would have got a solid batsman who would have developed his game better away from the spotlight.
I feel of all the player careers that ZC miss managed none were more miss managed than Stuey’s

Yeah, Sibanda was the last proper selectable batsman available. All other selections come with a lot of buts and if onlies.

Yeah it was a toss up between Vusi & Olonga; I was positive yourself & Kriterion would look to pick a seamer with your next two picks which wasn’t the case, maybe it would have been if Olonga was still available ?

This draft has been awesome, once its over maybe we could have a couple more like one from the glory Logan Cup days or an all nations one or something like that. Really put our cricket brains to work seeing as though there's not much else to do. Hopefully some other people are keen too.

I agree mate I’ve really enjoyed being involved and with today’s current climate it’s only sport related thing I have to look forward too.

I thought possibly next we could do a Test side version? This would bring guys such as Ken Arnott, Tino Mawoyo, Adam Huckle, Tinashe Panyangara & Wayne James into the conversation

Obviously we would give another 4 guys the chance to select

Absolutely, I have enjoyed this quite a bit, despite not being able to get my hands on most of my favorites :). It's like a game of Chess ultimately.

Also, I have realized some unbelievable facts along the way. Coventry had overall slightly better ODI record than Vusi, Streak finished his career with better batting average than Hamilton, and Wishart was possibly as bad as Matsikenyeri...

A lot of people have been doing those Facebook challenges where you name a heap of favourite cricketers, would be worth doing for Zim as well. I might post one sometime soon.
