I like these Northern/Southern things though. Obviously change the names, because half of these guys aren't from the regions they are representing (Williams playing for the North! )

But we should play these select series, potentially across formats, every year. Try and bridge the gap slightly between franchise and international.
Anything to get us playing more white ball domestic cricket. The fact we play eight 50 over games and eight T20 games a season is criminal.

Yeah agreed. There's some talk of reinstating the NPL as a winter league which could give people year-round opportunities if it ever happens.

I'm fine with the franchise Pro50/T20 tournaments being so short as long as we can have an extra North/South style series as well at the end of them. Say another 3 or 4 high-quality select XI games in each format.

Kaitano batting on leg stump. Or even 4th stump tbh. What is this modern obsession with not taking guard on middle? Maybe I'm too old.

Much like Tiripano, Chatara is half the bowler he once was.

Difference is, the Chatara was once a force to be reckoned with, often breaking the 140 km/h barrier. Tiripano was never worthy of consideration

Kaitano is hungry, loves to bat, actually wants to be in the middle. This is a guy who has won his spot fair and square

Very impressed with Kaitano so far, looks solid techniques wise at the top but it is different ball game at the highest level so hopefully he can become that stable partner to Regis at the top. I hope they take Chivanga on that tour, he appears to be the fastest bowlers Zimbabwe have right now, was hurrying batters more often than not.

  Niel Johnson used to bat like that, in ecent times AB de Villiers and Kevin Pietersen too. The space they leave in front of the stumps allows them to start moving around the crease as the bowler stats charging in. It unsettles the bowler and also helps avoid lbws to some extent

Someone on this forum said Tiripano was bowling around 140 km/h...no way!, he is mid 120s at best. the batsmen actually have to wait for the ball to get to them. whereas Chivanga was forcing batsmen to play defensive shots. The choice between Chivanga and Tiripano for this tour is easy...Chivanga all the way
