My opinion for every sport, not cricket only, is that warm-up match are very useful solely if you want to test players and strategies.
Match result is the last thing to see or worry about.
Zimbabwe cleverly and wisely exploited the use of several bowlers instead of pursuiting a meaningless victory.
The only target is to be prepared for World Cup.
Maybe the only complaint would be the scarcity of warm-up matches which Zimbabwe has played. This is my point of view, but I can't judge: perhaps the scarcity of warm-up fixture might have been due to economic shortage of resources.
