Someone like Jongwe, Burl, Madhvere etc would have actually made contact though

I mean yeah, its a hard business. But still likelier than Ervine who was notorious for being on the slower side before the last gamezimbos_05 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 11:01 amBut none of them do so regularly enough or have been doing that of late.slcricfan1 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 10:59 am

Honestly, I much rather Ervine. He is the only guy who plays with a straight bat. All the others try these flicks and sweeps and fancy stuff that never comes off.slcricfan1 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 11:03 am

Even the commentators are talking about how our guys are doing too much when all they need to do is steady themselves, head still, body upright, and play with a straight bat.
The fact that Raza, Chakabva have also failed disproves the theory that Ervine should not have opened.

Fair enough but I would have gone with Wes and Raza I think. Wes is a better opener than we give him credit forzimbos_05 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 11:06 amHonestly, I much rather Ervine. Nothing about this batting order makes sense. Raza/Chakabva/Burl/Jongwe should have been the top four. Although Madhevere is laying some claim to being a T20 opener with the way he's approached this.
First time we've seen a Zim player pull off an upper cut since Taylor?
